Breakthrough non-invasive, drug, surgery & pain free treatment for incontinence!
Central West Health in Orange provides a breakthrough non-invasive, drug, surgery and pain free treatment for incontinence in men and women - the Emsella Chair.
The only Emsella Chair in regional Australia, this technology was designed to effectively treat conditions associated with a weakened pelvic floor. It has proven a revolutionary solution for bladder leakage with patients reporting significant improvement in their quality of life after a course of Emsella Chair treatments.
How does the Emsella Chair work for urinary incontinence?
The Emsella Chair uses electromagnetic waves to stimulate more than 11,000 intense (supra-maximal) pelvic muscle contractions in comfortable, half-hour treatments.
The pelvic muscle contractions stimulated during Emsella treatment are far more intense than the voluntary pelvic floor and sphincter muscle contractions from performing Kegel exercises. Emsella treatment stimulates your entire pelvic floor, strengthening the muscles which in turn helps regain bladder control.
How does it differ to other treatment options for urinary incontinence?
Previously, patients were recommended Kegel exercises or invasive surgery, often with disappointing results. Physical therapy involving Kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles requires time and persistence. It is not possible to achieve the intensity of the Emsella treatment by performing Kegels. Surgery carries a risk for complications and a recovery period.
“I couldn’t believe how quickly I felt the benefits of the Emsella Chair! I feel more in control over my body, more confident and more adventurous to do many activities I’ve avoided due to bladder control problems.”
Both men and women can suffer from urinary incontinence, or bladder leakage, a condition that can significantly hinder quality of life, causing frustration, anxiety and damage to self-confidence. Ageing, pregnancy, childbirth, hysterectomy, prostate surgery or dramatic weight changes can all cause bladder leakage.
Bladder control issues affect more than 5 million Australians, but most men and women don’t seek treatment and suffer in silence. Central West Health’s main aim is to break this silence by providing an effective, discreet treatment that doesn’t require surgery, drugs, needles or endless Kegel exercises.
If you avoid enjoyable activities, restrict the places you visit due to the fear of bladder leakage, or if you suffer from a constant lack of sleep due to frequent nightly toilet visits, then an informed, kind and private conversation with one of our team can help.
Let us explain how Emsella treatment might help. Book your discreet and private telephone consultation with our experienced and caring staff or a free trial in our appointments section below.
What is classed as urinary incontinence? Bladder control issues range in severity from a small leak when you cough or sneeze, to complete loss of bladder control. Urinary incontinence, urination urgency or uncontrolled bladder leakage are common medical conditions that affect many men and women. The severity and prevalence of urinary incontinence increases with age.
Stress, urge and overflow incontinence are the three main types of incontinence and patients may experience one of these or a combination. Functional incontinence can also occur in association with other medical issues affecting a patient.
Stress incontinence… You may experience stress incontinence if you have leakage when you cough, laugh, jump or sneeze. When ‘stress’ or pressure is put on the bladder, it can cause uncontrolled leakage, commonly referred to as light bladder leakage, or stress incontinence. Involuntary loss of bladder control can cause embarrassment, leading to the restriction of enjoyable activities or exercise, simply to avoid leakage.
Urge incontinence… The sudden or intense urge to urinate, followed by an involuntary loss of bladder control, are signs of urge incontinence. Patients frequently need to go to the toilet in the night, thereby disrupting sleep. Due to the urge to urinate often coming on suddenly and intensely, patients typically need to know where the nearest toilet is at all times, adding to stress and anxiety.
Overflow incontinence… You may be experiencing overflow incontinence with frequent or constant dribbling of urine caused by a bladder that doesn’t empty completely.
Functional incontinence… A physical or mental impairment keeps you from making it to the toilet in time. For example, if you have severe arthritis, you may not be able to unbutton your clothing quickly enough.
